How to choose
- One cell (1S, 3.7V) → TP4056 with protection — charges and prevents over-discharge.
- A battery pack (2S–3S) → BMS board — balances the cells and protects against shorts.
- Need 5V from 3.7V — add an MT3608 step-up after the TP4056.
Compatibility
TP4056 charges at 1A over micro USB / Type-C; BMS boards suit 18650, 21700 and LiPo cells.
